Standard Access makes property and places smart, secure and accessible.

Based in Ireland, the company is a global leader in access control for all real estate and facilities, from residential blocks for public or private housing, to publicly-managed spaces including parks, libraries, sporting grounds, community centres, public toilets, community coworking hubs, and more.

The suite of smart, secure technology developed by the Standard Access team ensures integration with current building systems to maximise procurement budgets, while providing innovative solutions to known facilities management challenges.

Established in 2014, the product offering has widened over the past number of years to include innovative smart locks with an end-to-end reservation, payment and management system, and state-of-the-art data analytics. Software developed over the past 18 months can upgrade the functionality of existing CCTV systems (indoor and outdoor) to monitor crowd capacity and mask wearing. Critically, the company has in-house expertise to ensure GDPR compliance with current EU Directives.

Since the onset of Covid-19, there has been a massive increase in the demand for touchless technologies in both public and private spaces. This wave of property technology innovation is beyond merely being pandemic-responsive, it is designed to improve the environmental performance, social impact and governance operations of a building, while improving the overall user experience for occupants or visitors to the place.

The increasing roll-out of sensors and other internet of things, or IoT, devices across buildings and outdoor spaces opens up points of vulnerability and cybersecurity concerns that most building owners and operators, and indeed facilities managers, are not yet equipped to tackle or address. The Standard Access team are award-winning specialists in cyber secure technology for the built environment.

Commercially innovating in this industry has not been without its challenges. As a traditional industry, it has been slow to adapt, however, the pandemic has accelerated the pace of digital adoption significantly. In fact, from sustainability initiatives right through to exciting new public realm and placemaking plans, the appetite for innovating the built environment in 2022 from both the public sector and the private sector has been encouraging.

Standard Access is leading this digital transformation by providing adapted, agnostic and expert custom integrations of old or existing technology assets that might not fit for purpose, which de-risks the procurement process for clients and helps to lessen the losses incurred by previously acquired technology solutions.
